Hi, I'm Jessica.
First and foremost, thank you for being here.
If you've found your way to FurHaus, chances are you're someone who loves dogs as much as I do. And if that's the case, we're going to get along great!
I'm a Wichita native, a wife, a mom to three amazing kids (don't let the picture fool you; it's from college haha), and someone who has spent much of her career working alongside animals and the people who love them. I've worked in veterinary medicine, boarding facilities, animal rescue, nonprofit development, and community-focused organizations. Throughout those experiences, one thing became clear: our pets are family, and we want the very best for them.
The inspiration behind FurHaus comes from a very special dog named Evangeline (after the star in Princess and the Frog).
She was a blue merle Australian Shepherd, my soulmate dog, and one of the best friends I've ever had. After nearly thirteen wonderful years together, we unexpectedly lost her to pulmonary lymphoma in May of 2026. Like many pet owners, I know how it feels to love a dog with my whole heart.
Evangeline helped shape the vision for FurHaus.
As I reflected on the places we visited together, I kept coming back to the same thought: Wichita needs something more in the pet-friendly space.
I wanted a place where dogs could play and socialize year-round, regardless of the weather. A climate-controlled indoor dog park where owners could feel confident leaving their dogs for a long weekend because they knew they were receiving exceptional care. A pet boarding facility where convenience, community, enrichment, and hospitality all came together under one roof.
So I started building FurHaus.
Today, FurHaus is evolving into a first-of-its-kind climate-controlled indoor dog park, daycare, luxury boarding facility, transportation service, and canine social club designed around one simple philosophy:
Play. Stay. Belong.
We're creating a place where dogs can run, explore, learn, rest, and make friends. A place where pet parents can feel connected, informed, and confident in the care their dogs receive. A place built on trust, transparency, and a genuine love for animals.
From our climate-controlled indoor dog park to our hospitality-inspired boarding experience, every decision is made with intention. We want FurHaus to be more than a business. We want it to become a community.
Most importantly, we want FurHaus to remain local.
This isn't a corporate concept designed in a boardroom hundreds of miles away. It's being built right here in Wichita by someone who lives here, works here, raises a family here, and cares deeply about the people and pets who call this city home.
Whether you're joining our early access list, following along on social media, or simply cheering us on from the sidelines, thank you for being part of our journey.
FurHaus is still being built, and we're incredibly excited about what's ahead.
We can't wait to welcome you and your dogs through our doors!
